The KHMU branch at the Gachon University Gill Medical Center completed its strike with success in 14 days. 

 

The union branch of the Gill Medical Center has never stopped its struggles even for a single day over the past 14 days. Finally, on January 1, 2019, they won a victory in the struggle. 

 

The management and union reached an agreement for the following items: △ improve the payment system and raise the salary by 9.35% △ improve policies on HR, payment, workplace culture through TFT, set up an action plan to secure more workers △ hire additional 156 nurses and 23 assistant nursing staff △ give priority to termed- workforces when they go through permanent employment procedures after two years of contract unless they are disqualified.

 

At 2:00 pm on January 1, 2019, the union branch opened an information session about the agreement in details for the union members and at 4:00 pm on the same day, they held a report session to celebrate their victory. During the strike, over 1,000 union members joined in the protest every day throughout the 14 days.
