Discussion Session on How to Secure a Sufficient Level of Medical Doctor Manpower in the Post COIVD-19 Era
The KHMU conducted a Discussion Session on How to Secure a Sufficient Level of Medical Doctor Manpower in the Post COIVD-19 Era at the National Assembly Building. The Minju Party (the ruling party), the Justice Party (Opposition Party) and the Association of Health and Medical Sector Employers and Workers (preparation in progress) jointly hosted the discussion session.
In the session, some pointed that the number of medicine major students should increase to resolve the issues of medical doctor shortage and imbalances in manpower among hospitals. Also, some insist that state-run public medical university should be founded.
The KHMU emphasized the problems led by shortage of manpower, which was well shown in the responses to COVID-19. As the number of medical doctors are short, nurses have to take MD’s jobs in some cases and due to it, illegal medical services are provided from time to time.
